NCP3294MNTXG 25A/50A DC-DC Converter | Onsemi
The NCP3294 is a stackable synchronous buck regulator introduced by Onsemi. Housed in a WQFN34 5 mm × 7 mm package with a 0.5 mm pitch, it supports single-phase operation at 25 A or dual-phase parallel operation at 50 A, making it well-suited for high-efficiency and high-power-density power supply designs.

Key Parameters
- Input voltage: 3 V to 18 V (an external 5 V bias supply is required when the input voltage is below 4.5 V)
- Output voltage: 0.5 V to 5.5 V with ±1% accuracy
- Continuous output current: 25 A per phase; up to 50 A with two devices operating in interleaved parallel mode
- Switching frequency: Programmable from 200 kHz to 2 MHz, with external synchronization capability
- Operating junction temperature range: –40 °C to +150 °C
- Efficiency: Up to 95% (typical, under conditions of 12 V input and 1 V output)
- Package: WQFN-34, 5 mm × 7 mm, 0.5 mm pitch, featuring a top-side thermal pad for enhanced heat dissipation
Typical Application Scenarios
- Telecommunications: 5G baseband units and radio frequency units, where point-of-load conversion is required from 28 V to 12 V and then to 1 V
- Networking: Routers and switches utilizing a 12 V board-level power system to supply SerDes circuitry
- Servers: Auxiliary power rails for Intel/AMD CPUs (e.g., 1.0 V/25 A) or DDR4 VDDQ applications (1.2 V/40 A)
- Gaming and graphics cards: Step-down conversion from 12 V to GPU core voltage (e.g., 0.8 V)
- Industrial systems: After an initial stage Buck converter steps down a 24 V bus to 12 V, the NCP3294 provides a regulated 3.3 V/25 A point-of-load supply
